Gozo - 25th to 31st October 2010
After the huge success of out trip out to Malta & Gozo in June – several people have been requesting another holiday to this beautiful diving destination
This time we thought we’d try something a little different J
The plan is to base ourselves on Gozo with the excellent Gozo Aquasports and stay in their own apartments just moments from the dive centre in Marsalforn
Marsalforn is a charming Gozitan fishing village, with plenty of good local bars and restaurants where we can eat and drink cheaply
For those who just want to dive – we’ll be doing all the Gozo classics like: The Blue Hole & Inland Sea, South Gozo Wrecks, Fesse Rock, Reqqa Point, Billingshurst Cave, Comino Caves and P31
That on it’s own will be a stunning week’s diving and a great holiday. The sea temperature at this time of year is still in the mid twenties and at the surface it’s low to mid twenties and very pleasant.
However for those who love their underwater photography – the holiday has a twist J
We will be accompanied by renowned and published underwater photographer, PADI and Inon Instructor Chris Sterritt. Chris is one of the few people in the UK teaching the Inon Underwater Photography courses which are pretty much top of the tree in terms of digital underwater photography training. Chris will be bringing the full range of Inon lenses and strobes, along with a number of compact and SLR cameras in the housings for people to try. In short – you’ll get to play with lots of cool stuff
The course is an in depth introduction into the world of underwater photography and is meant to take people who currently dabble with compact cameras and move their technique, composition and use of lenses and strobes up to the next level along with stuff like manual white balance and exposure. It also gives people the chance to try additional equipment like Wide Angle lens convertors and strobes to assess the impact it has on your current camera setup
The course is very hands on and we’ll be running a competition for the best photographs of the week, along with some very cool prizes for the winners, donated by Dive Wimbledon
Flights will be with Air Malta who have very generous excess baggage concessions for those wishing to take their own dive and camera gear
For people who just want to experience the great diving Gozo has to offer – the photo course is not compulsory
The holiday includes flights, accommodation, transfers, and a ten dive package for £695 all inclusive
The Inon Level One course is at a concessionary price of £225 including the use of all the equipment and tuition
We will need an initial holiday deposit of £200 with your confirmation so that we can book flights
I am happy to run any other PADI courses people require whilst we’re on holiday as well
Chris and I look forward to joining you for an awesome week’s holiday and some great diving, in one of my favourite destinations
All the best
