What is PADI?

The Professional Association of Diving Instructors or PADI is the world’s leading scuba diving training organization with more than 5300 dive schools and resorts worldwide with up to 70% of the worlds divers taking a PADI course when they learn to dive.
 

PADI Open Water Diver Course 

The PADI Open Water Diver course is the most popular entry level dive course in the world and is valid everywhere.

There are two options when learn to scuba dive by enroling on this course. The first option is to complete the theory and pool for the course here in the UK and the 4 qualifying dives abroad on your own holiday. If this is the course you are looking for please click here.

The other option is to complete the full PADI Open Water Diver course here in the UK or on a holiday with Dive Wimbledon.

COMPLETION
  • PADI Open Water Diver certification card
  • Qualified to dive to 18 metres with a buddy
  • Your certification card is valid for life but frequent pool refreshers and practise pool sessions are highly recommended. As a Dive Wimbledon student you are invited to join our friendly and dive club for social events and diving here and abroad.

DURATION
  • 2 Weekends (Weekdays or Evenings available)
  • 2 - 4 Wednesday evenings. These sessions arefor those short on time so move at a faster pace than at weekends
  • Note : We have availability for all the dates on the drop down menus on the top right of this page. We will be running the theory/ pool and qualifying dives on additional weekends so please enter 'Other weekends' if you prefer another weekend and we will call you to discuss options. We can also often mix and match with the dates. For weeknight theory/ pool sessions these take place on Wednesday evenings and start on demand. In the summer we also can run the Qualifying dives midweek subject to demand as well as on additional weekends. Alternatively email roger@divewimbledon.com or call on 02085406874 to discuss.
LOCATION
  • We use several pools in Wandsworth, Kingston and Lambeth in South West London including Tooting Leisure Centre, Putney Leisure Centre, Streatham Leisure Centre, Southfields Community College and Wimbledon Lesiure Centre in London. Open water dives take place at Wraysbury Lake near Windsor or on one of our overseas Egyptian holidays like Nuweiba in March, Marsa Alam in June or Dahab in September.
